About the cooperation
About the Joint Working Group
The 14th Franco‑Indonesian Joint Working Group (JWG) stands as a central platform dedicated to strengthening academic, scientific, and institutional cooperation between France and Indonesia. Created to foster dialogue and enable long‑term collaboration, the JWG brings together universities, research centres, ministerial representatives, and strategic partners from both countries to deepen ties in higher education, research, innovation and mobility.
Over more than a decade, the Joint Working Group has contributed to significant progress through :
- the expansion of student and staff exchanges,
- the development of double and joint degree programmes, collaborative research projects, and initiatives that support institutional capacity‑building.
Each edition reflects a shared ambition to address global challenges, promote inclusive knowledge production, and support the internationalisation of higher education systems.
The 14th Edition in Angers
Hosted this year in Angers, the 14th edition will gather around 350 participants and will place particular emphasis on emerging joint priorities such as sustainable development, innovation ecosystems and university-business cooperation. Through thematic workshops, plenary sessions, and high level meetings, participants will have the opportunity to explore new avenues for cooperation while consolidating long‑standing partnerships.
This edition is co‑hosted by ESSCA School of Management, the University of Angers, and the French Embassy – Institut français d’Indonésie (IFI), whose close collaboration reflects both the dynamism of the French higher education landscape and the long‑standing depth of Franco‑Indonesian academic relations. The event also highlights the strong commitment of the City of Angers, recognised for its sustained support to international cooperation, its vibrant academic environment, and its engagement in promoting research excellence and innovation.
By bringing together institutional leaders, researchers, and experts, the 14th JWG reaffirms a shared commitment to advancing scientific progress, promoting academic excellence, and supporting the development of innovative, sustainable, and globally connected higher education systems.
This new edition builds on past achievements while opening new perspectives for future cooperation in the service of both national and international priorities.
